Web Accessibility
One of the core principles and foundations of CANAL MIRA is its collaboration with the Servidis Foundation and the Special Employment Center Servidis, S.L., in promoting the social and professional inclusion of people with functional diversity. For this reason, every detail related to Web Accessibility has been carefully considered. As a result, a fully accessible website has been developed, including multiple validations through various tools, feedback from users with disabilities, and, of course, compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defined by the WAI. This has led to the creation of a barrier-free, easy-to-use website based on the Web standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The main actions taken include:
Links
Wherever possible, we have ensured that all links on the website contain text clearly related to the page they redirect to. In addition, the HTML title attribute is used in cases where the link text is not clear enough or if it opens in a new window.
Images
All images implemented with HTML code on the website include alternative text, so that users who cannot view them can still get an approximate idea of what the image conveys.
Page Structure
Semantic structuring tags have been used on every page to provide the website with a clear and robust content hierarchy, using HTML heading elements such as h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, and h6.
In this way, certain texts are given more relevance than others to clearly highlight the most important aspects of each content section.
DESIGN AND STYLE SHEETS
One of the greatest advantages of the website lies in its design, based on style sheets and accessibility guidelines. This not only benefits the end user but also simplifies future maintenance, scalability, and flexibility tasks.
Thus, a simple language has been used for the structure, effectively and clearly separating content from presentation, which is centralized in style sheets validated by the W3C.
Standard HTML Code
All the pages on www.canalmira.tv are validated by the W3C, following the HTML5 Transitional document type.
